River and Night Safari

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

The river safari, focusing on the aquatic species of our planet made for another interesting day. The first part is a walk through, where you can encounter fish the size of me, as well as sharks, river dwelling birds and otters who shoot through the water like little furry bullets. The next part is a short ride, where you sit in a boat and it takes you to habitats deeper in the forestry around the river, where you can see flamingos perched on one pink leg, and jaguars piercing eyes staring from within the trees. And last, the manatee enclosure, where these fat loveable creatures had their feeding time, wrapping their fins around each other and the diver who took them their lettuce, in an affectionate embrace.

Then, we had to wait for it to get dark. For this is when we went on the night safari. Here housed all of the nocturnal and crepuscular animals, who scurry around by starlight. These ranged from flying squirrels to boars, to great tigers. We picked our way delicately through the paths, following the neon signs. Before long we found ourselves back at the entrance square, where dancers were twirling batons of fire, and breathing huge bursts into the flames. The two women had hair as long as mine, and I wondered how they didn't catch it.
