Bingin beach is a lovely little patch of golden sands and bright blue seas, right along the coast of the island. It was exactly what we had pictured for a beach day, big colourful weblankets spread out to lie on, lots of sunshine, and cold refreshing water to jump in whenever we needed to cool off. Molly and dougie both caught a little too much sunshine and ended up on the lobster side of the spectrum, but I managed to maintain an olive browny colour.
It was so nice to spend the day together, walking down the beach hand in hand with dougie, and feeling complete after all the time he was missing. It started to spit a little later on, and the three if us huddled into a cave to shelter, and then ventured back out to watch the sun set. It was a little cloudy to see the bright oranges and reds that we had hoped for, but there are lots of nights left to sit and watch the bright orb fade into the dusk.
We stopped in the cashew tree for dinner on the walk home, and had some really good chips, with interesting dips and flavours. Not exactly the Balinese food we had expected, but so good we couldn't resist. And after all the swimming and the walking and the heat of the day, we came back to rest our tired old bones.
