Wat Rong Khun

Updated: Jun 1, 2018

It's been a mad couple of days since we left Nepal. We were sad to leave the hostel behind, and everyone we knew there, but will definitely drop on and say hi when we come back in the future. As for Thailand, we have only been here for a day, but our first impressions are pretty good.

We went out late last night to find some food, and walked through the famous Chiangmai night market, which we will be coming back to in a few days time to explore properly. We had our first taste of Thai street food, and it was amazing, so many flavours and so many colours! And best of all, it didn't give us food poisoning xD

As for today, we got up pretty early and caught the bus to chiang rai, where we went to see the while temple. This is so different from any of the other temples we have seen anywhere in the world. It looked almost as if it was made of snow, with beautiful silver embellishment snaking through every point. There was a white bridge that led up to the temple, a pagoda that appeared to be floating in the middle of a lake, and a golden section where bells rang and a Buddha sat meters tall in front of us.

Thailand is on so many people's list, such a major destination, and famed for its scenic beaches, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else it brings to our trip.
