Bangkok is not what i had expected. I pictured a myriad of muddled paths and old cobbled buildings with broken pieces of slate dripping from the roofs like Kathmandu. But Bangkok is a lot like all major cities, except one small difference: the temperature. Being in a room here in the middle if the city is like sleeping in a sauna, the heat soaks right into your pores until every ounce if you is uncomfortable. Even large bags of ice laid across your body don't stave the feeling of saturation as your skin melts into the mattress.
The only brief respite is that we are headed toward monsoon season here in thailand, where the sky brings forth an entire decades worth of water in a few short months. Hearing it bounce from metal roofs like bullets makes for beautiful acoustics when the rain drops hit the ground as if being hurled at full force, breaking and scattering tiny beads of water all over the pavement.
