The Right Train

Rail biking was pretty high on our list for things to do in South Korea. It is something I have never seen anywhere else, and it was certainly a good work out for the legs as we peddled a small car between the two of us, through the mountains. Going across the old rail tracks, which stretched across vast lakes and wound through the old sector of trees and hills was very pretty, but very tiring. We had a lot if laughs as the couple in the cart sped away from us, and the couple in the car behind caught us up, and no matter how hard we peddled, we didn't seem to be moving any faster!

After a fun afternoon at rail biking however, the evening went down hill. We got on the train home, but when we were purchasing a ticket and the officer asked where we were going, we were told it was the wrong train. So we got off at the next stop, having had to buy a ticket that we now couldn't use. We checked the map, and found out that it had in fact actually been the right train! So we went to the information centre and a lady kindly refunded our ticket. We just had one hour wait until the next train.

However, 3 minutes before our train, another train arrived at our platform, and we hopped on, assuming it was just a little early. But as the doors closed and the train pulled away, we realised that we were now on the wrong train, and by the time we rode one stop and got the train back, we would have missed the right train. So, feeling very frustrated and berating ourselves, we re bought a new ticket, waited the two hours for the next right train to appear, and made our way home after a much longer day than we had planned.
